Seminário MATLIT: Susan Schreibman, Anxo Abuín González e Paulo Franchetti

No próximo dia 9 de junho de 2017, pelas 14h15, no Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (5º piso, FLUC), tem lugar um Seminário MATLIT, com a participação de Susan Schreibman (Universidade de Maynooth), Anxo Abuín González (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela) e Paulo Franchetti (Universidade Estadual de Campinas). Os três conferencistas integram a Comissão de Acompanhamento Externa (CAE) do Programa de Doutoramento FCT em Materialidades da Literatura. Neste seminário, que decorre  no âmbito de uma visita da CAE ao Programa, poderemos conhecer temas da investigação recente dos três especialistas, respetivamente, no campo das humanidades digitais, no campo dos estudos do teatro e da performance, e no campo da poesia brasileira: Susan Schreibman, “Digital Humanities, Social Engagement, and the Archive”; Anxo Abuín González, “Del flâneur al phoneur: algunas implicaciones teatrales”; e Paulo Franchetti, “Ferreira Gullar: notas sobre o heroísmo”.

Susan Schreibman was the founder of the Digital Humanities Programme at Trinity College, Dublin, and she is currently Professor of Digital Humanities and Director of An Foras Feasa, the Humanities Research Institute, at Maynooth University. She was Director of the Digital Humanities Observatory (2008-2011), a national digital humanities centre developed under the auspices of the Royal Irish Academy. Previously she was Assistant Dean for Digital Collections and Research, University of Maryland Libraries (2005-2008), and Assistant Director of the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities (2001-2004). Her book publications include Collected Poems of Thomas MacGreevy: An Annotated Edition (1991), A Companion to Digital Humanities (2004; new updated edition, 2015), and A Companion to Digital Literary Studies (2008). She is the series co-editor of Topics in the Digital Humanities (University of Illinois Press) and the founding Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed Journal of the Text Encoding Initiative.

Anxo Abuín González holds a PhD in Theory of Literature and is “profesor titular” at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He has published widely on the study of the relations between literature and other media, especially cinema, theatre and performance. His books include El narrador en el teatro. La mediación como procedimiento en el discurso teatral del siglo XX (Santiago: Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, 1997); Teoría del hipertexto (Madrid: Arco, 2006), coedited by Teresa Vilariño Picos; Escenarios del caos. Entre la hipertextualidad y la performance en la era electrónica (Valencia: Tirant lo Blanch, 2006) and El teatro en el cine (Madrid: Catedra, 2013). He is the principal investigator of the following projects: “Narrativas cruzadas: hibridación, transmedia y performatividad en la era digital”  (Referencia: FFI 2012-35296) and “PERFORMA. El teatro fuera del teatro. Performatividades contemporáneas en la era digital” (Referencia: FFI2015-63746-P) (2016-2019).

Paulo Franchetti is Professor in the Department of Literary Theory of the Institute of Language Studies, State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and CNPq researcher level 1B. He holds an MA in Literary Theory by Unicamp (1981), PhD in Letters by the University of São Paulo (1992). He has been a Full Professor at Unicamp since 2004. He works in the area of Arts and Humanities with an emphasis on Literary Theory, Brazilian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries and Portuguese Literature of the 19th century. His major works deal with Concrete Poetry, Camilo Pessanha, and Machado de Assis. Between 2002 and 2012, he chaired the editorial board of Unicamp Press.
